With its investment and trade level, Mersin Free Zone which is one of the most important zones in Turkey; is also a preference reason for the investors with its geograpical location and own piers inside its borders.
In the zone; %47 of users act as trade firms and %24 as manufacturers. The employment in the Zone is 7.829, while the Zone takes the 2. order within the free zones in Turkey with a trade volume of 3,8 billion $.
The number of firms in operation in the Zone is 421 where as %81 of them are local. Within the context of the investors field of activities, mostly weighted textile and wearing apparel products having EU standards and also manufacture of paper and paper products (packaging materials, manufacture of paper and paperboard, manufacture of household and sanitary goods and of toilet requisites) manufacture of basic metals (manufacture of other products of first processing of steel) take the first place. And also wholesale trade, warehousing, assembling, banking-insurance, repair and maintenance activities are carried out in the Zone.
